Here are some fun facts on pigs

Juliana Pigs are the smallest

Mini Pigs (also known as micro pigs, pocket pigs, or teacup pigs) are right behind

Potbelly pigs come next and can get up to 200lb's

And the Kunekune pigs from New Zealand which can get up to 300lb's

 

Pigs are the 4th smartest Animal.

They can learn tricks like sit, stay, shake, spin, jump and to walk on a leash.

Pigs enjoy human company and love to snuggle under blankets. Pigs don't sweat so they must have a mud hole or water pool to cool off in. Some pigs during their first year may get Dippity Pig Syndrome. Signs are almost identical to sunburns. An affected pig may dip their backs if touched, vocalize in pain, and lose control of their back legs. In some cases you will see circular, serum-oozing lesions on their back. Usually it clears up on its own within 72hrs. (Sheldon did get it when he was about 7months old). Normally it's just a one time thing!  All pigs develop have their own personalities. When they are upset they will pout. Pigs are very clean animals. They will use a litter box inside the home. Pigs are said to be smarter then dogs and cats. A pig has a very good memory and never forgets what you have taught them. Pigs have a very strong nose. They have a special prenasal bone and a disk of cartilage at the tip. They can uproot a lawn quite easy and have a very good sence of smell.
